About Us

   We are a group of about 300 residents ( and Growing ) that are concerned with the current direction and the future of Oakland Township. Our main directive is to stay informed and to pass that information on to the citizens of Oakland Township. If you are a citizen of Oakland Township your views are as equally important as any other citizen or Township official. Living in Oakland Township is the only qualification that you need to help us make a difference.

    We have no political party affiliation nor are we affiliated with any other groups. Although we do work together with other groups and government agencies that have the same concerns that we do about the future of our natural resources and over development. ( Reference Related Links )

   To make a difference in Oakland Township it is important that we attend and speak at Township meetings, so the Oakland Townships Board of Trustees, the Planning Commission and our hired officials are informed as to how they can best represent the citizens.  When it is required, as citizens of Oakland Township, we will take the appropriate actions, via our countries democratic process, that are needed to protect the future of our Township and Neighborhoods. We will also hold our township officials both elected and hired responsible for the actions that they take on our behalf.

   We love were we live and we are happy to share it with others, that will respect the rural country atmosphere and low density living of which the land is currently zoned.

  We would like to welcome everyone that is a resident of Oakland Township to join us. All members have an equal voice and it is important that we receive the views and concerns of all residents from across our beautiful township.

 

   Oakland Citizens Group has been created by the unselfish donated time and efforts of many truly caring residents. We are friends and neighbors and we are determined to make a difference.
